Job Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Microbiologist to join the Technical Development team based at the Girvan Distillery.  You will use your expertise to deliver microbiological support to our distilleries and bottling lines, helping to interpret data and advising on any required improvements to process.

Main Responsibilities

You'll will be responsible for the micro lab on site, and delivering the routine sampling plan across our Girvan distillery.

Ensure that all results are recorded diligently, are correct and communicated to key stakeholders in a timely manner.

Sampling plan aside, this role is anything but routine! Our microbiologist will act as a subject matter expert across all of our sites, and will advise on and support best practise in CIP/hygiene.

There will also be a requirement to lead and support the delivery of project work with the aim of increasing quality and efficiency and/or reducing production costs.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will have a can-do attitude, alongside exceptional technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Have used your knowledge and experience to analyse and interpret data, with a desire to use those results to drive continuous improvement in hygiene.

Good knowledge of yeast and fermentation is desirable and experience within the brewing/distilling industry would be preferred.
